A New Rodgers Organ in Mexico
The city of Cortazar, in the Mexican state of Guanjuato is situated in the center of the country. It has more than 90,000 inhabitants. In the city center lies a magnificent edifice,
St. Joseph Catholic Church. After several years, the project to install a pipe organ became a reality thanks to the support of the government of the State of Guanajato, through the State Institute of Culture.
In October 2016 a new 3-manual Rodgers Infinity 361 with 4-pipes ranks was installed high up in the rear choir loft. Rodgers local representative, Luis Falcon, contracted with San Diego pipe organ builder and Rodgers representative, Robert Knight, to construct and install the instrument. Robert Tall was invited to assist in the tonal finishing process. The result is an awesome instrument of cathedral proportion in a magnificent space boasting 5-seconds reverberation.
